Today was out first day to start animal centers. The kids sorted animals by type and by covering. They also observed our class pets and researched animals on their Nooks.
Playing math games is such a fun way to reinforce concepts and practice important skills. Here we are playing "Collect 25 Cents." We are so blessed to be at a school that values relationships (and fun)! Dr. R. & Mrs. Weems planned a tailgating lunch for teachers. We took a little brain break today and learned the Sid Shuffle! Their favorite part was "Jump! Jump! Wiggle your rump, and walk it out like Granny." We really enjoy playing math games on the interactive white board! This game is called "Give a Dog a Bone." We'd like to introduce our new class pets- Patch and Mrs. Cuddles. They are "fancy" rats. Patch is a "patch" hairless rat (due to a rare, recessive gene). We sure do love these baby girls! The kids had so much fun playing math games on our interactive white board! We've been working hard to find different ways to cover shapes/designs with pattern blocks. We've also learned to play "Guess My Number" on the number line AND even set a record of guessing the number in just 5 guesses! Let me have your autograph if you...have 2 or more sisters, have ever jumped on a trampoline, have been to Australia...(getting to know each other) Summer snowball fight- sharing 3 things that our friends may not know about us Thumbs up for a great first day in 2nd grade! |
